Purdue football is on a 6 game losing streak. Purdue football hasn’t won a Big Ten game over the past two seasons. Purdue football is in a bad place. So, what better way to turn things around then by heading
to Ann Arbor and taking on the Michigan Wolverines. Right?
Ledman (7-1):
I should’ve listened to my gut last week and picked against the Boilermakers but I really thought they had a chance to win that one. And they did. For basically 59 minutes of game time. Then things all went south. If Purdue can’t beat Rutgers at home I have little faith they will find a way to beat Michigan at the Big House. Michigan can run the football and Purdue will likely have to sell out to stop them. That mean the opportunities for big plays against this Purdue secondary that has a bad habit of running into each other and allowing deep ball after deep ball. I’m going with the home team in this one.
Purdue 7
Michigan 31
Jed:
This is the part of the schedule where, barring the opponent gets food poisoning that Purdue won’t have much of a chance. The last few weeks don’t do anything to justify any other prediction than a loss that will likely be three scores or more.
Mockobee continues to be a bright spot but there just isn’t consistency at other positions and the defensive backs continue to be really good at playing ole’ pass coverage. Couple that with what sounds like a new quarterback in Malachi Singleton and you have a recipe for disaster.
Michigan: 45
Purdue: 13
Travis (4-4):
I wish I could say I was optimistic, but there hasn’t been a lot of reason for optimism lately. MIchigan is one of those teams that is so good they can play with their food a bit. It wouldn’t shock me if this plays out a little like the Notre Dame game, where it is close for a bit before the Wolverines pull away. Michigan 38, Purdue 17
Ryan (6-2):
Purdue has struggled with good teams and bad teams at home and on the road. This is a good team on the road and I am not very confident Purdue will even sniff competitiveness in Ann Arbor. Half the fanbase appears to be set on moving on from Ryan Browne and for good reason as the Sophomore has struggled albeit with some brief flashes. On the other side of the ball, Michigan brings an explosive offense with the number one recruit as their QB and another 2-headed monster at RB. Purdue may have a hard time stopping the Wolverines and moving the ball for the Purdue offense is becoming more and more difficult by the week it seems. I am going to go out on a limb and say that Purdue has no shot. Let’s revisit this matchup in basketball season though because that looks to be a great game.
Purdue 17
Michigan 41
Drew:
I’ll put it this way, other than Michigan having significantly better players, coaches, and playing at home, this is a pretty even matchup.
Purdue hasn’t won a Big 10 road game since they lost to Michigan in the Big 10 Championship in 2022 (why does that feel like centuries ago)? Maybe beating the Wolverines in Ann Arbor will break the curse!
Am I predicting a Purdue upset?
Absolutely not, I may be dumb, but I’m not that dumb. This is going to be a blood bath.
Purdue: 10
Michigan: 41
Casey:
Big house, big loss. Let’s not get cute. A good Purdue would lose this game. 65-12.
