Jürgen Klopp is wasting no time getting familiar with the Bundesliga and the players who could form the core of his Germany squad.
On Sunday, the new Germany head coach will visit FC Bayern at Säbener Straße, where he will personally meet with Vincent Kompany and members of the club’s leadership to exchange ideas. Klopp has already begun making the rounds across German football, with Bayern Munich naturally representing one of the most important stops given the number of German internationals in Kompany’s
squad.
Max Eberl welcomed the visit and highlighted the potential value of Klopp speaking directly with Kompany.
“It’s great that the national team coach is stopping by. We have plenty of German national team players. And I think Vincent is a coach that Jürgen Klopp likes to listen to.” Eberl told Sky Germany journalist Kerry Hau.
The relationship between Klopp and Kompany could become an important one for both Bayern Munich and Germany. Kompany works with several players who are expected to feature prominently in Klopp’s plans, while Klopp will want to understand how those players are developing under the Bayern Munich manager.
There is also a natural opportunity for the two coaches to exchange ideas about tactics, player development, workload and the challenges facing their respective teams.
With Klopp beginning his tenure as Germany head coach, establishing strong relationships with Bundesliga managers will be crucial. Bayern Munich will undoubtedly be one of his most important contacts, and Sunday’s visit to Säbener Straße should provide the foundation for a productive relationship between Klopp and Kompany.
