Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NCAA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Nebraska fans and fans across the country.
Last week, I threw out a poll as to who you thought our leading rusher would be and got more responses about possible sponsor jersey patches. I didn’t want to jump into that yet, since Troy Dannen has said we won’t be doing that until next year. But-
Well, you don’t have to tell me twice.
I’ve given you five choices which don’t, for the
most part, try to get too original or funny. And why is that?
Because I want you guys doing that in the comments.
Have fun with it. I’d say keep it within the boundaries of good taste, but that would be a damn lie – just try not to post anything which would force a deletion from the stern hand of the moderator. Straddling the line is fine; just don’t barrel through it with a combat carrier spitting perverted gunfire. But have fun.
The ones deemed funniest/most original/etc. by yours truly will get honorable mentions when the results are published Later this week. So, for now, cast your votes and chime in below with your wish listers. – Andy Ketterson
The question is which lucky sponsor should be memorialized on the Husker football uniform patches in 2027? I looked for some AI help with rough drafts of what they should look like. Assume the logos will be worked in later.
YOUR CHOICES:
A) Mutual of Omaha
This was a simple search and it worked out rather well – I simply wanted Wild Kingdom’s Jim Fowler being attacked by a panda. Folks who watched Johnny Carson imagining host Marlon Perkins sending Fowler into the wild to face unspeakable danger for a good action shot know what I’m talking about.
B) RUNZA Restaurants
A no-brainer, however I simply didn’t have time to teach the AI just what the fark an actual Runza looks like. They have damn fine burgers as well – deal with it.
C) Sandy’s Bar
Ah yes, the Elk Creeks – the pitcher of orange Spritey goodness that hits like a truck down the road. It’s the reason boys are half-carried back to dorms and fraternities by their buddies…and girls are STRONGLY encouraged to use the Buddy System.
D) Taco Bell
Fine, it’s not a local chain. And, yes, I get that someone seated doubled-over on the commode next to an empty bag would be funnier. But this is supposed to put the sponsor in a good light – and it does bring us so much late-night joy before the morning cleansing.
E) Busch Light
We emptied the supply in Oklahoma City on the way to the Sweet 16. The marketing boys should know the Annheiser corporation is dealing with more than simply loyal customers. Husker Nation puts the “C” in consumption.
