Barcelona have been handed good news on Joao Cancelo as the Portugal international appears to have escaped injury after going off in the first half of Wednesday’s win over Celta Vigo.
Cancelo couldn’t continue after appearing to injure his knee and was replaced by Alejandro Balde midway through the first half of the game at Camp Nou.
Lamine Yamal was also forced off in the game, with Barcelona having subsequently confirmed he will miss the rest of Barca’s season with a hamstring problem.
Yet it’s a
different story for Cancelo who looks set to feature in Barca’s final six matches. According to Gerard Romero, Cancelo trained normally on Thursday after the Celta win and looks set to be available for Barca’s next outing on Saturday.
Barcelona head to Getafe next and will be without Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Andreas Christensen due to injury, while Eric Garcia misses the game through suspension.
Hansi Flick’s side won 3-0 when the two teams met earlier this season and know another victory will move them another step closer to retaining their title.
