A couple weeks ago (Fri., Sept. 25 to be exact), Cain passed along this item in our Rumor Roundup:
WrestleVotes was told that even though Seth Rollins returned to WWE at a live event in South America a couple weeks ago, they are keeping him off TV until the right creative idea and moment is in place for his return. At one point he was supposed to be on the Money in the Bank card, but it’s not clear if that’s still the case. Regardless, his return is expected to happen soon.
Money in the Bank is just
two days away, and there hasn’t been a story set up for Rollins’ first appearance since SummerSlam, so we can probably rule him out for this weekend’s card. This dark match advertised for tomorrow night’s SmackDown in Lafayette, Louisiana is kind of a new direction for him, at least in terms of opponents. We’ve seen Seth vs. The Bloodline, and Seth vs. The Vision. Time to see how he does against The 946… still with the men he fought The Usos & Jacob Fatu with on the South American tour, his old pals LA Knight and Solo Sikoa.
We’re already trying to read a lot into a recent addition to the card, so it’s only right to remind you that the card is always subject to change (and that the Cajundome website still lists the Usos and Jacob Fatu as Royce Keys & OTM’s opponents in tomorrow’s dark match… but we already talked about Fatu’s status yesterday).
Do you think we’ll see Rollins back on our screens soon? How do you think WWE will bring him back? Let us know in the comments below!
