It was all a dream. And it’s happening again.
After seven years, the Brooklyn Nets’ COOGI or Notorious B.I.G. inspired uniforms are coming back, the team announced Monday morning. While there’s been murmurs
of the wardrobe return for months now from a variety of sources, now, we know it’s legit.
The Nets will don these “City Edition” threads in 11 games this season, including each home affair vs the New York Knicks. Here’s their complete wearing schedule:
- 11/11 vs TOR
- 11/24 vs NYK
- 11/29 at MIL
- 12/21 vs TOR
- 1/9 vs LAC
- 1/16 vs CHI
- 1/23 vs BOS
- 2/5 at ORL
- 2/27 at BOS
- 3/20 vs NYK
- 4/3 vs ATL
Unlike with their KAWS uniforms from each of the past two years, the Nets aren’t scheduled to wear these during any NBA Cup games.
Brooklyn will also bring back its “Bed-Stuy” wordmark with these unis, though only slightly. Unlike with the white 2019-20 uniforms which had that design planted right on the jersey’s chest area, it looks like it’ll land on a seam this year. The “All-in-Won” sponsorship patch is back too for a second straight year.
The Nets said on X (formerly Twitter) that jerseys will go on sale November 11th, the same day they debut, which the team also has listed as “Biggie night” now on its schedule. Brooklyn also noted they’ll give fans a “first look” at them this Saturday during Practice in the Park.
While this might be a familiar fit for Brooklyn, the guys wearing them will be quite different this time. The remnants of their 2018-19 team are long gone. Now, Brooklyn’s historically sized rookie class will try to write a new legacy in them. Veterans Cam Thomas, Day’Ron Sharpe, and Nic Claxton will also get a taste of an era they just missed.
