What is the story about?
Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take
it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- According to WrestleVotes, WWE is optimistic that Bron Breakker will return in time for WrestleMania 42. However, there is a backup plan in place just in case he isn’t back for the show.
- Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer was told that Royce Keys won’t be part of Jelly Roll’s current angle on SmackDown with Kit Wilson, despite a recent rumor that says otherwise. Dave’s sources did not confirm that Roll is scheduled for a match at WrestleMania 42, even though that appears to be WWE’s direction right now.
- Wrestling Observer Live’s Bryan Alvarez speculates that AEW commentators were a little confused about Toni Storm’s injury angle at the start of Dynamite because “something planned happened, followed by something that happened unplanned.”
- Votes’ sources in WWE think it’s “doubtful at best” that this summer’s Night of Champions PLE will take place in Saudi Arabia, as originally planned, due to Israel and USA’s ongoing war with Iran.
- The outlet also claims that WWE creative is finally talking about the Street Profits return. However, there is still no timetable for when that will happen.
- Fans in attendance at AEW’s Slam Dunk Collison taping say it looked like Josh Alexander suffered a knee injury during his match. He was helped to the back afterwards.
- Alvarez indicates that AEW will definitely break the stipulation that Hangman Page will never challenge for the world championship ever again. Meltzer says that stipulation helped Revolution draw AEW’s biggest buy rate on pay-per-view since last year’s All In.
- On the video game front, HYPEX says WWE stars Liv Morgan and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin are coming to Fortnite.
