Raw airs tonight (Jan. 26) with a live show from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is the final episode of Raw during the nine week build to Royal Rumble, which takes place on Saturday (Jan. 31) in Saudi Arabia.
Bron Breakker’s future on Raw is now in question
Over the weekend, Raw general Manager Adam Pearce hyped up tonight’s episode of Raw by saying Bron Breakker will return so they can have a talk about his future:
“I will have a very candid conversation, eye to eye, with Bron Breakker, where we will discuss his actions, my actions, and where he fits in the future of the flagship.”
Pearce may think it’s Bron’s future on Raw that’s in question and needs to be discussed tonight, but Paul Heyman insinuated last week that Pearce is the one who might not be long for WWE’s flagship show. After all, Pearce is the one who put his hands on Breakker first, which led to Bron manhandling Adam, threatening to murder him, and getting himself suspended as a result. Pearce then put his hands on another Heyman Guy last week when he forcibly removed brass knuckles from Austin Theory’s hands, which led to a loss for The Vision.
Paul responded to Pearce’s actions by saying he’s been a great general manager and everybody’s gonna miss him when he’s gone. Adam understandably interpreted those words as a threat, and then he suddenly received a mystery phone call that caused him to change his mind about keeping Breakker away from Raw.
Is tonight’s talk between Pearce and Breakker really going to be about Bron’s future on Raw, or is this all part of The Vision’s plan to do something terrible to the GM and/or have him removed from power? Will Heyman bring in Brock Lesnar to help resolve this situation, while also declaring for the Royal Rumble match?
Tune into Raw to see all the drama unfold when Bron Breakker returns from suspension for a conversation with Adam Pearce.
The rest of the card
The Usos need a new top contender to defend their world tag team championship against. That team will be determined tonight in a 4-way match between New Day, American Made, Los Americanos, and Alpha Academy. Otis and Akira Tozawa recently said they want to be taken seriously in the tag team division, so here is their chance to do something about it.
We will hear from both AJ Styles and GUNTHER on tonight’s show, as the Phenomenal One prepares to put his WWE career on the line in their match at Royal Rumble. Will AJ address Shinsuke Nakamura potentially spoiling his retirement plans for Rumble and work it into kayfabe? Will Styles squeeze in one more match tonight against a notable wrestler from his past before he hangs up his WWE wrestling boots for good in Saudi Arabia? Will the Ring General explain how exactly he plans to make AJ tap out like a little bitch, just like John Cena?
Other stuff to keep an eye on
– After defeating Bron Breakker and Finn Balor this month, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk doesn’t have anything on his plate heading into Royal Rumble. Will a new challenger pop up on his radar tonight? Or does CM get to skip out on this PLE since he doesn’t need to apologize to Saudi Arabia again defend his belt on the show?
– Finn Balor looked like a really big star in last week’s main event match against Punk in Ireland. Does he follow up last week’s stellar performance by going back to playing video games in the locker room tonight?
– Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer looked healthy when she showed up at Saturday Night’s Main Event to kick Raquel Rodriguez’s ass. Now that Vaquer’s walking boot is gone, will an official date be set for their upcoming title match?
– WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley defeated Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Kiana James and Women’s United States Champion Giulia are the new number one contenders for the gold. Will they come over from the blue brand tonight to send a message to the babyface champs, or can that wait until after they all try to win the Royal Rumble match this weekend?
– What does Natalya have to say in her first promo after turning heel on Maxxine Dupri last week?
– Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch will be more insufferable than ever after proving that Maxxine’s recent title reign was a fluke. Does Becky now plan to declare for the Royal Rumble match so she can become Becky Two Belts again at WrestleMania? Will there be anything she says that foreshadows the return of AJ Lee on the road to WrestleMania?
– Is there an update on Je’Von Evans’ status after his match last week was stopped early during a commercial break?
– Even if Bron Breakker’s suspension isn’t officially lifted tonight, does his mere presence in the building indicate that Penta, Dragon Lee, and/or Rey Mysterio are getting the shit speared out of them during this broadcast?
– Will any more part-timers follow in Roman Reigns’ footsteps and declare for the Royal Rumble match without bothering to show up or send in a pre-taped promo? What about full-timers who have been away like LA Knight? What about NXT stars who are on the verge of being called up like Oba Femi?
– Are more weather-related changes coming to tonight’s card due to this massive snowstorm?
– Where the f*** is Rusev?
What will you be looking for on Raw?
