The Pereira legacy continues?
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) two-division champion Alex Pereira could soon be joined inside the Octagon by his younger sister.
Aline Pereira has been booked to face former ONE Championship Muay Thai champion Smilla Sundell during Week 10 of Season 10 of Contender Series, which goes down Tues., Oct. 13, 2026, inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Following a successful kickboxing career that
included a GLORY Super Bantamweight title opportunity, Pereira transitioned to mixed martial arts (MMA) in 2022. However, her MMA career got off to a rocky start, with “Poatan’s” younger sister going just 1-2 during her initial run with LFA.
Pereira then stepped away from MMA and found success in Karate Combat, where she went 3-0 with two nasty knockouts before capturing the promotion’s inaugural women’s Flyweight championship.
The 35-year-old returned to MMA in late 2025, defeating Nejra Repp via unanimous decision. In her most recent MMA appearance, Pereira competed at MVP MMA 1 against BKFC brawler Jade Masson-Wong, escaping with a split-decision victory in an ultra-forgettable fight.
Pereira currently holds a 3-2 MMA record, with all three of her victories coming by decision.
Honestly, this smells like a gimmick booking designed to potentially get another Pereira onto the UFC roster. Despite her striking credentials and famous last name, Aline has not been particularly impressive under MMA rules and, at 35 years old, does not have much time to develop.
However, UFC certainly did not hand her an easy opponent.
Sundell is a legitimate combat sports prodigy and one of the most intriguing female prospects to enter MMA in years (especially since Bella Mir just lost).
“The Hurricane” began training Muay Thai after moving to Thailand as a child and quickly emerged as an elite striker. Sundell signed with ONE Championship in 2022 and defeated Jackie Buntan to capture the inaugural ONE women’s Strawweight Muay Thai title at just 17 years and 161 days old, making her the youngest champion in the promotion’s history.
Sundell successfully defended the championship by stopping Allycia Hellen Rodrigues in the third round. She was later stripped of the belt after missing weight ahead of her scheduled defense against Natalia Diachkova, but still knocked out the Russian in the second round.
The Swedish phenom ultimately left ONE with a perfect 5-0 promotional record, including three knockouts.
After receiving her release, Sundell transitioned to MMA in 2026 and has already gone 2-0 with two violent stoppages. She knocked out Miranda Barber with knees and elbows in her professional debut before finishing Maya Stewart with punches and knees.
Sundell is only 21 years old, stands 5-foot-10 and possesses the kind of frightening striking experience rarely seen from a fighter with only two professional MMA bouts.
In an absolutely dire women’s Bantamweight division, Sundell is exactly the kind of young prospect UFC desperately needs.
So, get hyped for “The Hurricane.”
