It didn’t take long for Arizona soccer to fall behind Friday evening in its senior day match vs. Utah. Forty-six seconds, in fact.
The Utes scored the match’s only goal less than a minute in, as Arizona’s
offense continued its scoring drought. The loss drops the Wildcats to 7-7 on the season and 2-4 in Big 12 play.
Arizona has lost three consecutive matches and failed to score in any of them. The UA has scored four total goals in conference play, with three of those coming in a 3-1 win over Oklahoma State.
Utah’s Bella Woods put the Utes (7-5-3, 2-2-2 Big 12) on the board with a strike just outside the penalty area 46 seconds in.
Arizona outshot Utah the rest of the first half and went into halftime with a 4-3 shot advantage. Utah maintained control for much of the second, however, outshooting Arizona 6-1 over the final 45 minutes.
Arizona’s Olivia Ramey had five saves on the night.
The Wildcats have five remaining regular season matches. They’ll hit the road next to face BYU in Provo, Utah on Thursday, Oct. 16.
