The winner of the 2026 Ballon d’Or award
will be announced later today when the ceremony is held in London.Barcelona star Lamine Yamal is among the favorites for the Golden Ball along with England and Bayern striker Harry Kane and Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe.
Yamal has won La Liga and the World Cup in 2026 and will become the youngest player ever to pick up the prize if he finishes top of the pile tonight.
The teenager’s main rival looks to be Kane. The Bayern goal machine fired Bayern to league and
cup glory in Germany last season, scoring an impressive 61 goals in 51 games in the 2025-26 season.
Mbappe has also been campaigning hard for the Ballon d’Or, insisting there was “no one better” than him last season despite finishing the campaign trophyless.
