The Steelers were dealt a potential injury concern during Thursday’s training camp practice after first-round offensive tackle Max Iheanachor exited the field with a trainer following an apparent injury.
According to reports from practice, Iheanachor walked under his own power back toward the locker room after leaving the field
early. The nature and severity of the injury were not immediately known, and the Steelers have not provided an official update at the time of the report.
Reports have indicated it looks like a neck of shoulder injury.
The sight of Iheanachor leaving practice is notable given the organization’s high expectations for the rookie. Selected in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, the former Arizona State standout is expected to play a significant role in Pittsburgh’s offensive line rebuild and is viewed as an eventual cornerstone piece for the franchise’s future.
