Newcastle United have been backed to move for West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen amid growing uncertainty around his future at West Ham United and some league-wide interest in a transfer for the Hammers player this summer.
Former Premier League striker Darren Bent believes a move to St James’ Park makes sense for Bowen.
“For me, the logical move for Jarrod Bowen, if he was to leave West Ham and stay in the Premier League, would be Newcastle,” Bent told talkSPORT.
Bowen’s form has ensured he remains one of
the most sought-after forwards in the league, with The Guardian reporting that behemoths Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United are interested in the West Ham player.
“Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in Jarrod Bowen as rival clubs prepare to capitalise on West Ham’s financial problems,” Jacob Steinberg reported on May 19.
West Ham’s financial situation could also force them into unwanted sales, given their precarious season.
“West Ham will need to raise more than £100m,” Steinberg wrote. “The England winger… will have a decision to make.”
For now, Newcastle are among several clubs monitoring developments closely ahead of the summer window, and depending on how strong the competition for Bowen is, they might try their luck at landing him or look elsewhere for a cheaper, more attainable option.
