Draft season has officially bled into May. On Thursday, the NFL announced the dates of the 2027 draft, which will be held in Washington, D.C. The draft will stretch from April 29th to May 1st. This will be the first time that the draft has spilled over into May since 2021, the first post-Covid draft.
The only other drafts since the 80s that have kicked off on April 29th or later are:
- 2015 (April 20th-May 2nd)
- 2014 (May 8th-10th)
- 2006 (April 29th-30th)
If you’re planning to go to the nation’s capital for the event, make sure you book into May this year. Who knows how
late the draft will be held if the NFL gets its way and plays 18 regular-season games with two bye weeks in the next collective bargaining agreement. One day, the draft might be held closer to June than April.
I guess we’ll get a little more time to debate about Brendan Sorsby this cycle.
