Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez scored twice for the Catalans on Wednesday night as Hansi Flick’s side won 4-2 in the Champions League.
It was another impressive performance from the 22-year-old, with
Slavia Prague’s Michal Sadílek showering his opponent with praise after the match.
“I think the two goals we conceded in the first half wouldn’t have happened in the league. Fermín’s runs behind the defense are incredible; I’ve never seen anything like it and I’ve probably never played against a better player in this respect,” he said afterwards.
Flick also praised Lopez after the game and made it clear he was happy that he ignored transfer interest from Chelsea last summer to stay at Barca.
“He’s a fantastic player. The decision was his, and I’m happy he stayed,” he said. “He’s a player who lives and breathes Barcelona and has that Barcelona DNA. I really appreciated his performance today.”
