The Thomas Tuchel Era at Bayern Munich is not one that will be fondly looked back upon for many fans of the club.
However, there were some moments of excitement (followed by the pain of disappointment) — and one of those was Alphonso Davies scoring against Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League tie between the two powerhouse clubs.
Davies came on in the 27th minute for Serge Gnabry after the Germany international suffered a thigh injury. Davies would deliver a terrific goal in the 68th
minute to give Bayern Munich a 1-0 lead in the match and a 3-2 lead on aggregate.
Things were looking for the Bavarians and Davies took some time to reflect on that moment:
Of course, Real Madrid’s unlikely hero — Joselu — would score at the 88 and 90+1 minute marks to put Los Blancos up 4-3 on aggregate and seal Real Madrid progression in the tournament.
