The Cleveland Browns are going down the home stretch of their head coach search, but that doesn’t mean there will not be curves and turns along the way. The Browns have gone through the process at a slow, deliberate pace, but the team has a history where things do not always go smoothly despite detailed plans.
Cleveland fans remember the days when head coach searches led to the fifth or sixth option finally accepting the position. This year’s search has already had Mike McDaniel and Jesse Minter,
the same day he accepted the Baltimore Ravens top job, pull out of the search.
Monday morning, with Nate Scheelhaase on the schedule to be interviewed in California, Grant Udinski has pulled himself out of the running for the Browns head coach job:
Rumors have been flying for days that Scheelhaase is Cleveland’s preferred candidate. That includes multiple people at the Shrine Bowl:
Many are projecting that Udinski got the same message and decided to pull his name out instead of being rejected for the position.
As of now, the Browns have four candidates remaining for their head coaching position:
- Nate Scheelhaase
- Jim Schwartz
- Todd Monken
- Anthony Lynn
What do you think Udinski pulling out means? Is it another problem look for the Browns or just a part of the process?
