What is the story about?

Well that didn’t take too long, now did it? The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have finally put the offseason in the rearview mirrors for fans, and the 2026 season begins today in a Shamrock Series matchup against the Wisconsin Badgers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

The Irish come into this game ranked No. 4 in the country and are one of the favorites to win this year’s national championship. That’s great and all — it really is, but actual games on the field have to be played first.

Wisconsin has seen their

fair share of troubles over the last few years, but that doesn’t mean they won’t put up a tremendous fight against Notre Dame.
