Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer echoed coach Vincent Kompany’s statements about Bayern Munich being a serious contender to win the UEFA Champions League, and the European trophy being a clear objective of the Bavarians. In an interview for Bild, Hainer talked about the topic (via @iMiaSanMia). “Of course, we also want to win the Champions League. Vinnie made that very clear in Asia. I’m convinced we’re capable of that,” said the Bayern boss.
However, Hainer emphasized the fact that such an
endeavor requires a bit of fortune. “But for that, you also need that little bit of luck in addition to sporting quality. If you think back, in 2012 we were by far the better team and lost. In 2013 we won. That could have turned out differently.”
Bayern certainly has the personnel needed to make a good run in the Champions League, and with new additions to the squad like Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown, the bosses and fans alike hope for a successful season.
