Given last week’s report that WWE might book the most women’s matches in WrestleMania history for next month’s event in Las Vegas, it stands to reason that IYO SKY should get an important spot on the show. She did have the best match at last year’s WrestleMania and Triple H is over the moon about her, after all.
However, there’s been some uncertainty regarding WWE’s creative plan for IYO considering that she and Rhea Ripley just lost the women’s tag team titles so that The Eradicator can return to a high
profile singles championship match with Jade Cargill on the grand stage. There’s also a new rumor that WWE might be planning to book United States Champion Giulia vs. Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania. So, where does that leave SKY?
With all of that in mind, Bodyslam+ now reports that WWE is discussing a match between IYO SKY and Asuka at WrestleMania 42, and there’s some internal support for adding Kairi Sane to make it a triple threat. This lines up with what we’ve recently seen with RHIYO’s feud with the Kabuki Warriors, as well as Asuka’s poor treatment of Kairi.
If the reports and rumors are true, this could be leading to potentially six or more women’s matches across both nights of WrestleMania 42 in Vegas.
Does that sound good to you? Let me know in the comments below if this is shaping up to be one of the best bell-to-bell WrestleMania card of all-time, Cagesiders.
