Happy Wednesday Husky fans. The Huskies have a massive wave of visitors on campus this weekend for unofficial visits. One of the top targets on the offensive line isn’t able to make it this weekend, but I was able to catch up with him this week about his recruitment and interest and UW. 3 star offensive tackle Benjamin Lowther from Centennial HS, AZ is one of the top Husky targets on the offensive line and he has an official visit set for June 5th. 247sports has him rated as the 43rd best offensive tackle in the 2027
class. Here is what Lowther had to say about his interest in UW:
UWDP: UW has been recruiting you for a while. When did you first start hearing from them?
I started hearing from Washington June 15th, 2025 the official contact period for coaches but I got the offer from them in early May.
UWDP: How is your relationship with coach Switzer?
It’s great! Coach Switz is a great guy and a smart coach, he cares about his players and has a really impressive way to develop players
UWDP: What do you think of the UW program and the University?
I love the program, the fans and the community around the school. I remember coming to games and being absolutely amazed at the atmosphere. The university Is prestigious and is perfect for what degree I’m going for in Aerospace engineering.
UWDP: Besides UW what other schools are you considering?
I’m considering Washington, ASU, Stanford, Kansas, and Arizona
UWDP: What are you looking for in a school you commit to?
I want a school that will fully believe in my ability and help me grow in to the person and player I want to be. I also want the education part to make it possible for me to get my degree in aerospace engineering. The staff has to be like a family, everyone on the same goal and all together to win a National championship!!!
UWDP: When are you planning on making your commitment?
I will make a decision within a week after my last official visit!!
UWDP: 247sports has you listed at 6’7 and around 320 pounds. Is that accurate?
I’ve been measured at 6’8 and also 6’7” and a 1/2 so that’s pretty much accurate. My weight is around 330 right now.
UWDP: How would you describe yourself as a player?
I would describe myself as a hard worker. I’ve always enjoyed the process of seeing my self grow and being consistent. On the field Im very technique oriented and ensuring that my first step is as quick as it can be.
