At 6’8″ and weighing in at around 275 pounds, Joe Doering made quite an impression wrestling for All Japan Pro-Wrestling in the 2010s after a brief stint in WWE developmental. That led to two runs with AJPW’s top belt, the Triple Crown Heavyweight championship.
It eventually took him back to TNA Wrestling, which had sponsored the Canadian school he trained at in 2004.
On Impact, Doering was paired with Eric Young in the Violent by Design group. His length undefeated streak was snapped in his first
shot at TNA’s top title in 2022.
A brain cancer diagnosis led to Doering stepping away from the promotion shortly after that.
Earlier this week, we learned the 44-year-old had been moved to hospice. Today (June 26), former TNA president and current Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling owner Scott D’Amore’s promotion shared that Doering’s cancer fight was over.
At 9:13 a.m. today, June 26, our brother Joe Doering passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Though his time on this earth lasted only 44 years, Joe packed a thousand years’ worth of living into every one of them.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Lindsay, his family, and leaves behind countless friends and devoted fans around the world who will forever remember his strength, courage, and spirit. Rest in peace, Joe. You will never be forgotten.
Beautifully said. Our hearts go out to Doering’s family, friends, and anyone missing him today.
May he rest in peace.
