Week 2 of the 2025 season. Consecutive game number 84 for me. After the chaos and magic of the Week 1 home opener, this one felt more like a business trip, both for me and for the Bills.
The weekend started
down in Miami on Saturday, where I made the 2.5-hour drive to Hard Rock Stadium to catch my alma mater’s (Miami Hurricanes) college football game. Of course, Mother Nature wasn’t in the mood to cooperate. After the first quarter, we sat through an hour-and-a-half delay thanks to storms, a reminder that my plans don’t always matter when football and Florida weather are involved.
By the fourth quarter, Miami had things comfortably in hand, so I dipped out early to beat the stadium traffic. It was a smart call, but I didn’t get home until close to midnight. And instead of sleeping like a responsible adult, I stayed up to watch the Crawford vs. Canelo fight. (Absolute zero regrets!)
A couple hours later, the alarm went off at 2:45 a.m. I rolled out the door by 3:30am to make the drive to Orlando for my early morning flight to Newark. Fortunately, it was one of those rare perfect travel days nonstop, smooth flight, and we even landed 17 minutes early. From there, it was Uber straight to the stadium, where the real fun began.
The NYC Bills Backers and Pennsylvania 6 NYC put on a free tailgate, with just one request: open your heart and wallet to donate to the PUNT Pediatric Cancer Collaborative. Bills Mafia always shows up for the community, and this tailgate was a reminder of why these road trips feel so special. My biggest stress of the day? Not flying in the same day, but trying to buy my ticket in the parking lot while tailgating. My phone reception had other plans. After a few frustrating attempts, though, I finally scored a great seat and made it inside with 15 minutes to spare before kickoff.
As for the game? The Bills handled business. A clean, dominant 30-10 win over the Jets where the outcome never really felt in doubt. The defense was relentless, holding the Jets to just 154 total yards and only three points through three and a half quarters. It wasn’t the kind of heart-pounding drama we lived through in Week 1, but it was the kind of victory that championship teams stack up. On the way out I got to hear my friends LeShawn “Warloc”Jerman and Whittle do their Twitter SPACES rants live in person against some Jets “frenemies”; I can only say I’m glad we cheer for the same team!

Two games into the season, two wins in the books, and 84 consecutive games in the streak. Next it’s back home in Orchard Park, NY under the lights for Thursday Night Football against the Miami Dolphins. A short week, but the journey doesn’t stop.
