The Arizona Cardinals announced they have activated their best offensive lineman, well hopefully he is their best offensive lineman this year as they announced that Paris Johnson Jr. has been activated off the PUP list.
PJJ has been good when healthy, maybe not elite, but he has played well and anchored the left tackle position the last two years.
The issue becomes that PJJ has struggled the last two seasons to stay healthy and when that happens, the Arizona Cardinals offense seems to struggle as well.
So, for the Cardinals that is also the question when it comes to an extension. Do you extend the player that clearly makes you better, but isn’t elite at his position yet, but also has not stayed healthy his last two seasons?
Having a player that is a key to your offense but isn’t always available is clearly an issue, but they also don’t have a better option and he was a massive investment because they traded away the ability to draft maybe the best non-Myles Garrett player on defense in the NFL.
Either way, he improves this team and their offense, and that is all that matters.
Welcome back, PJJ.
