Bayern Munich wrapped up their Audi Summer Tour after beating Aston Villa 2-1 at the Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong. The victory marks the end of Bayern’s Audi Summer tour which started with another 2-1 victory against K League outfit, Jeju FC.
So after short but successful preseason tour, what is next for Vincent Kompany’s side?
Well, the first course of action is a well deserved break (via @iMiaSanMia).
The team will fly back to Munich tonight and will have the weekend off.
Training resumes on Monday
with the rest of the international players back (Olise, Kane, Upamecano) – Saibari, Davies, Musiala also expected back
The next game will be against RB Leipzig on August 15 at Allianz Arena
From this point onward, the ante really ramps up. Kompany only has the RB Leipzig game (August 15th) and the friendly vs. Heidenheim (August 18th) to get the players who missed preseason up to speed before their Franz Beckenbauer Supercup match against Borussia Dortmund on August 22nd. Shortly after, Bayern will start their Bundesliga title defence with a tricky opening fixture against VfB Stuttgart.
The new season is almost upon us and Bayern are looking dangerous once again. Let’s hope Kompany can use the positive preseason momentum to navigate the next few fixtures.
