Forward Yazmeen Ryan and midfielder Delanie Sheehan will be traded from the Houston Dash to the Denver Summit in exchange for a total of $1 million dollars, the clubs announced today.
The fees will be divided into $800,000 in Intra-League Transfer funds and $200,000 in Expansion Allocation funds. The transaction also includes up to $100,000 in conditional transfer funds that would raise the amount of funds going to Houston to $1.1 million, plus an additional conditional sell-on fee if the players
are traded in the future.
“We are thrilled to add both Yazmeen and Delanie to our group.” said Denver Summit FC General Manager, Curt Johnson. “Delanie brings a wealth of NWSL experience to our midfield, while Yazmeen is a proven attacking threat who is extremely versatile. Both players have won trophies and had tremendous NWSL careers. They will immediately help us both on and off the field.”
“We appreciate everything Yazmeen and Delanie contributed during their time in Houston. They brought a veteran presence during a transition period that paved the foundation for the team we have today and we wish them the best as they begin a new chapter in their careers,” President of Women’s Soccer, Angela Hucles Mangano said. “We did not anticipate this move at the start of the year, but it creates an opportunity for us to invest in players and resources that support our long-term vision and our ambition for the season ahead.”
Sheehan and Ryan both joined the Dash at the start of the 2025 season from Gotham FC. They were part of the Gotham FC team that won the 2023 NWSL Championship.
At Houston, Ryan contributed four goals and three assists last season over 25 appearances. Internationally, she has made 16 appearances for the US Women’s National Team and scored 2 goals.
Sheehan appeared in all 26 of the Dash’s games last season and contributed one goal and two assists.
