TBS Champion Persephone is not a coward, so she issued an open challenge for (almost) anyone inside or outside of AEW to show up tonight (Sept. 26) at All Out and challenge for her belt.
Lots of fans were hopeful that the mystery opponent would turn out to be former WWE star and current free agent Kairi Sane. Those folks will have to wait a bit longer for KAIRI to show up in AEW, because it was actually former TNA star Dani Luna making her AEW debut to answer the call.
For some reason, the AEW commentators weren’t interested in mentioning Luna’s TNA background, and instead focused on her history with RevPro.
Luna put up a hell of a fight in a match that got more time than I expected, perhaps because the match before it was cut short due to injury. Here is Dani showing off her impressive power.
Dani could’ve and should’ve won the title if it was a clean fight, but Britt Baker’s interference at ringside made the difference.
With the numbers game on her side, Persephone scored the pin and leaves All Out still your reigning TBS champion.
