BYU had its first player selected in the 2026 NFL Draft as Linebacker Jack Kelly was selected by the New York Giants with the 193 pick overall in the sixth round.
Kelly was one of BYU’s most impactful players the past two seasons after transferring in from Weber State. Kelly was named First Team All-Big 12 this past season after totaling 55 tackles, 13.5 TFLs, and 10 sacks. Kelly missed the Arizona game with a shoulder injury and was limited
in games after that, but he was still BYU’s most disruptive defender and game through multiple time with the biggest plays for BYU’s defense. Kelly recorded combined 31.5 sacks during his career at BYU and Weber State. Kelly spent three years at WSU (redshirting his first season) before transferring and spending his last two seasons at BYU.
Jack Kelly participated in the NFL combine, recording a 4.57 40-yard dash time and a 37-inch vertical jump. He’ll now head to New York with new Giants coach John Harbaugh.
