Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is one of the best players in the league, but there is still a lot of room for growth.
Pro Football Network ranked their top 100 players in the league, and Herbert was listed at No. 80, making him the 13th-best quarterback on the list.
“Playoff success continues to elude Justin Herbert, but the regular season sure hasn’t. He’s led the Los Angeles Chargers to double-digit wins in three of his last four seasons, placing in at least the NFL’s top ten in passing
yards in three of those four years. In 2026, he ranked ninth with 3,727 yards and tied for seventh with 26 passing touchdowns,” PFN contributor Jacob Infante wrote.
“Herbert’s 13 interceptions hurt his PFN QB Impact Score, as he finished with a career-low 75.1 score last season. However, he’s remained an impactful player who carried the Chargers to the playoffs in spite of him playing with an injured hand and behind a hobbled, porous offensive line.”
Herbert’s turnover rate can partially be credited to his poor offensive line. With Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater expected to return in 2026 from their respective injuries, that shouldn’t be much of an issue.
Herbert’s success will come down to whether or not he can take care of the football. If he can continue throwing touchdowns at his current rate while reducing his turnovers, Herbert might move up the ranks on this list, and more importantly, the Chargers might become a true threat to win it all in the AFC.
