Another Tennessee Volunteer is off the board at the 2026 NFL Draft.
WR Chris Brazzell II heard his name called by the Carolina Panthers with the No. 83 overall pick in the third round.
I really like this landing spot for Brazzell. First, the Panthers are coming off a division crown last year, which was a big step forward for head coach Dave Canales in his second season in Charlotte. Bryce Young is still not there to where he needs
to be, but he’s improved significantly since his rookie year, so he’ll have a decent QB throwing him the ball.
It’s also a good situation as far as not having to do too much early on. The pressure won’t be on him, and he won’t be asked to be an immediate WR1 for a team. 2025 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Tetairoa McMillan will demand the lion’s share of attention from opposing defenses. Jalen Coker had a solid season in the slot.
So Brazzell should be able to carve out a role for himself as a big target, but one who can hit the home run deep and stretch the field for the Panthers.
Congrats, Chris!
