It’s time for Game 2 between the San Francisco Giants and the Baltimore Orioles. I’m scheduling this article on Friday afternoon, which means I don’t know if the Giants are winning or losing this series … and I don’t know who the heck is pitching today.
For the Giants, at least, who have a hole in their rotation to fill. I do know who is pitching for the O’s: lefty Trevor Rogers. Injuries have limited Rogers to just 13 games this season, but he’s been fantastic in those 13 games, sporting a 7-2 record
with a 1.40 ERA, a 2.33 FIP, and 76 strikeouts against 19 walks in 83.1 innings. He’s been on an absolute heater lately, having pitched seven innings with one run allowed in each of his last three starts … and in the start before that, one run in six innings, and in the start before that, one run in eight innings, and in the start before that, no runs in seven innings. Yeesh.
So the Giants have their work cut out. Good luck, boys. Enjoy the game, fans. Happy Saturday, all.
