Kane addresses Barca rumors…again (Sport Bild’s Tobi Altschäffl)
Recently, Bayern Munich star Harry Kane has been linked to FC Barcelona. With Robert Lewandowski thought to be on his way out of FC Barcelona, Kane looks like the primary transfer target for the Catalans to replace the Polish Hitman.
However, Kane seems to want to make it very clear — Bayern Munich fans should feel okay about where everything stands between the Englishman and the club.
“I haven’t had any contact with anyone, nobody has contacted me. I feel very comfortable in the current situation,
even though we haven’t yet discussed my situation with Bayern. There’s no rush. I’m really happy in Munich. You can see that in the way I’m playing. If there’s contact, then we’ll see. But I’m not thinking about the new season yet. First up is the World Cup in the summer. And it’s very unlikely that anything will change after this season.”
When asked whether Bayern Munich fans should have any concern about Kane’s future, the striker simply replied: “No, I don’t think so.”
That seems…encouraging. Very encouraging, actually.
Football, though, is a crazy sport and until there is a ceremonial photo with Kane gladhanding his bosses, some fans are always going to feel a little on edge about the future of the striker position in Bavaria.
Ouédraogo hurt, but drawing interest from Chelsea, United (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)
RB Leipzig midfielder Assan Ouédraogo is looking like he will be a highly sought-after player during the summer transfer market. Manchester United and Chelsea are both interested in the 19-year-old:
🚨🆕 Premier League sides are crazy about Assan #Ouedraogo ahead of next summer.
Manchester United and Chelsea are already scouting him. #MUFC #CFC
The 19 y/o top central midfielder has three goals and three assists for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, is under contract until 2029 with no release clause. Major ambition: earning a place in the World Cup squad.
However, things took a tough turn for Ouédraogo as picked up an injury this week that will keep him out for a spell per Sky Germany’s Philipp Hinze:
🔴 Sky Info: Assan Ouédraogo will be sidelined for approximately 5-7 weeks due to a tendon injury (popliteal fossa). This injury, in my opinion, cannot be blamed on any potential injury proneness of the player. Ouedraogo wants to block Grüll’s shot – Grüll lands at top speed, maximum dynamism, and full contact on Ouedraogo’s leg (completely unintentionally / 52nd min). Stuff like this unfortunately happens in soccer – in Assan’s case, there’s a “of all people” in front of it. But for me, this scene has less to do with general proneness.
BVB eyeing Dutch midfielder (ESPN)
Borussia Dortmund is joining Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Newcastle United in a pursuit of AZ Alkmaar midfielder Kees Smit (Author’s Note: If he really wants to do this right, he needs to add an ‘h’ to his name!):
An offer worth £25 million will be required for Liverpool to land AZ Alkmaar midfielder Kees Smit, Football Insider reports. It is reported that the Premier League champions are one of the sides considering a move in January for the 19-year-old, but they could face competition from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund. Netherlands U21 international Smit has directly contributed to four goals in 12 Eredivisie matches this season.
Sané not going anywhere yet (Ekrem Konur)
There were rumors linking former Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané to several different leagues, but Galatasaray is not ready to part ways just yet:
🚨🆕 #Exclusive 🇩🇪 #Galatasaray
Leroy Sané is not only on Al-Ahli’s radar — top clubs from Europe, MLS, and the Saudi Pro League are also monitoring him.❌ Galatasaray have no plans to sell, but offers could still arrive.
Alvarez not thinking about leaving Atléti (Fabrizio Romano via ESPN)
FC Barcelona is rumored to want Atlético Madrid attacker Julián Alvarez, but reports say he will not be leaving Atléti:
Atlético Madrid forward Julián Alvarez isn’t currently considering leaving the Wanda Metropolitano despite being linked with Barcelona.
It will be interesting to see what happens at FC Barcelona. Robert Lewandowski is expected to leave the club in the summer, which could leave a gaping hole at the No. 9 spot for the Catalans.
Kostić to stay at Juve (Nico Schira via ESPN)
Former Eintracht Frankfurt winger Filip Kostić could stay at Juventus after weeks of rumors:
A meeting between Filip Kostić’s agents and Juventus is expected to take place in the coming days to discuss the player’s future. Kostić hopes to stay at Juve and extend his current deal.
