What is the story about?

The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently in a dogfight for the AFC North division crown. Considering the injuries to their wide receiver group, a record of 5-2 is pretty impressive. The defense is stingy and will keep the offense in striking distance every week. Germie Bernard has shown huge promise, and D.K. Metcalf has come on as of late. Michael Pittman Jr. was brought in this offseason, but is currently on injured reserve.

Should the Steelers pursue a wide receiver before the trade deadline? Really,

it depends on the option. Next week will make more names available and teams willing to discuss trades. With another loss, it could push teams to sell and recoup draft picks. If the answer is someone like stud receiver Garrett Wilson, the Steelers would be foolish to not check in on the Jets.

With the Colts tanking and the Jets in possession of their first-round pick, Jeremiah Smith could be in their sights. Toss in the emergence of first-round pick Omar Cooper, Jr., and the Jets could be talked into parting with the recently extended receiver.

Only time will tell, but the Steelers could absolutely use a separator at receiver to compete for a Lombardi in Aaron Rodgers’ final season.
