While the Arizona Cardinals have a lot of questions to answer this season, they have done enough during the offseason, training camp and preseason to be among the biggest betting favorites in week one of the NFL season.
According to our friends over at FanDuel Sportsbook, they are actually the biggest road favorites this weekend, with their opening odds now all the way up to the Cardinals -6.5 over the New Orleans Saints.
This is definitely a different thing, as the Cardinals are rarely favorites opening
weekend in the NFL season, and as road favorites opening weekend, well you would have to go back all the way to 2010 in order to get that, when the Cardinals opened as -3 favorites over the the St. Louis Rams.
If we are being fair though, this is as much an indictment of the expectations of the New Orleans Saints, as they come in with valley native Spencer Rattler at quarterback, who boasts an 0-6 record as a starter in rookie head coach Kellen Moore’s first game of his career.
