Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany can say that he likes how things played out in 2025 and that he is also eagerly anticipating what 2026 holds.
“We’ve gradually become more stable, at least in terms of feeling. The last game has its own story, and then there’s the next one. I don’t need to make many big pronouncements right now. What’s difficult to say is that we’ve lost very little this year and won quite a lot. In March, we’ll be playing for the trophies. In these crucial moments, we want
to take the next step,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “This year, we’ve laid a good foundation for next year. Next year, we’ll be in a positive position to try everything. I believe that the important moments always come in spring.
“It’s always difficult to summarize a year when you’re essentially at the beginning of the year. If I’m talking about the entire year of 2025, we won a lot of games. We won two trophies, but of course, we want to win more. We’re in a good position to say: if we want to challenge for the Champions League, we’ve already done a lot. We can’t do more at this point.”
Kompany has lofty goals, but he has been an important driver to push Bayern Munich to the heights it has reach this year. Hopefully, the squad will be ready to embrace the challenges that lie ahead.
