Real Madrid returned to work at Valdebebas today as they continue building toward Saturday night’s LaLiga showdown with Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The session began indoors, with Alvaro Arbeloa’s squad starting off with video analysis before moving into strength work in the gym. Once out on the grass, the players split into smaller groups for rondos and tactical exercises, sharpening their approach for the upcoming match. Training wrapped up with a series of small-sided games to close
out the morning.
Mbappé Works Indoors, Key Players Still Recovering
The main update from the session was the absence of Kylian Mbappé from the pitch, as the forward trained inside the facilities instead.
Meanwhile, Éder Militão, Jude Bellingham, and Rodrygo remain sidelined as they continue progressing through their respective recovery programs.
A Chance to Go Top in LaLiga
Saturday’s fixture presents Madrid with a major opportunity in the title race. Los Blancos currently sit just one point behind Barcelona, and a victory over a Real Sociedad side in strong form could temporarily send them two points clear at the top.
Adding to the context, Real Sociedad are balancing a busy schedule, with their Copa del Rey semifinal first leg taking place at San Mamés this week. Madrid, with a full focus on league duty, will be aiming to take advantage and claim an important three points before Barcelona return to action on Monday away in Girona.
The Bernabéu will be the stage for another crucial night in the championship battle.
