In an email sent to Colorado students and alumni on Friday, athletic director Rick George announced a plethora of Game Day experience enhancements at Folsom Field for the 2025 season.
The improvements vary in size, from a brand new entrance involving pyrotechnics to new food options for Colorado fans.
Headlining the improvements is the debut of a drone show during Colorado’s game against BYU on September 27. Drone shows aren’t new to Folsom Field, as Dead & Company utilized the new technology during their
final concert in Boulder in 2023, but this season’s show during week five will be the first time we’ve seen drones at a Colorado Buffaloes football game. Drone shows have been taking the college football world by storm in the last two seasons, and George and the Buffs are jumping on the train.
Mentioned above, a new team entrance will be utilized when head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffs follow Ralphie onto the field before games and after halftime. George didn’t mention exactly what the new entrance will look like, but he did state that “cold sparks” will be used, similar to what Colorado basketball used during their intros this season.
Additional improvements announced are new food trucks outside in Folsom Field’s plaza during games, a new tailgate area on Benson Field right next to the stadium, new interactive experiences on the videoboard powered by AI and quality-of-life changes to make it easier for season ticket holders to transfer parking passes.
