Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich has been thinking about this kind of match all his life — a Champions League knockout round game vs. Real Madrid at the Bernabéu.
Needless to say, it will not take much to get the Germany international motivated for this clash.
“I was here as a kid and toured the stadium. Back then, I’d never have imagined that I’d play a few games here. Bayern against Real is the Clasico of European football, it’s always nice and special to be here and take part in it,” Kimmich
told Prime Video (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
“Every time I came here I thought the same thing,” Kimmich continue with a laugh. “But the difference this time is that we have the full squad available. We’ve always arrived at this stage with many injuries throughout the years. We’re in good spirits, we have everyone available, and you can feel that everyone is looking forward to the game. It’s going to be a good game for Bayern fans, Real Madrid fans and also for neutrals.”
A motivated, confident, and healthy Bayern Munich could spell trouble for Real Madrid…just ask Kimmich.
