ESPN | David Schoenfield: With the World Series over, like clockwork, eyes turn to 2026. In a well-titled “way-too-early power rankings,” ESPN slots the Yanks in at #4, trailing the World Series champion
Dodgers, and the Jays and Mariners, the two clubs who met in the ALCS. Schoenfield highlights that as the Yankees get pitchers back from injury, they might feature the best rotation in baseball. On the other hand, he points out that if New York loses Cody Bellinger and Trent Grisham in free agency, they’ll need to replace 63 home runs and 8.5 WAR.
New York Post | Jaclyn Hendricks: Yankees Captain Aaron Judge got to cheer on his wife Samantha this weekend in her athletic pursuits. Samantha, a veteran marathon runner, completed the New York City Marathon on Saturday. It was the third time in the past four years the Yankee slugger has been on hand to support her as she competes in the NYC Maration. This year, she finished the 26.2-mile run in an unofficial time of 3:32:34.
The Athletic | Chad Jennings ($): Speaking of Judge, he was the only Yankee representative on The Athletic’s All-Playoff Team. Judge had multiple hits in six of the Yankees’ seven postseason contests and he paced the club in hits, runs, walks, and RBIs. Only Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. boasted a higher OPS among qualified hitters in the playoffs, as well. After years of questions about Judge in the playoffs, hopefully 2025 helped put them to rest and set Judge on the path to postseason dominance.
