To keep this feature going, I’m going to post simply the WPA numbers and plays of the game, and a poll so you can vote on your choice for Player of the Game. Thomas will update the Rizzo Award standings when he returns.
Game 113, Aug. 3: Cubs 10, Dodgers 5

THREE HEROES:
- Superhero: Kevin Alcántara (.234). 1-1, HR
- Hero: Carson Kelly (.173). 1-4, HR
- Sidekick: Seiya Suzuki (.138). 1-4, HR
Three of the four Cubs homers added the most to WPA.
THREE GOATS:
- Billy Goat: Matthew Boyd (-.104). 6.2 IP, 9 H, 5 R (4 ER)
- Goat: Alex Bregman (-.043). 1-5
- Kid: Dansby Swanson (-.019). 2-3
The three-run homer off Boyd
in the first pretty much killed his WPA, despite his recovery for a decent outing.
WPA Play of the Game: Kevin Alcántara’s two-run homer in the second that gave the Cubs a 4-3 lead (.217)
Dodgers Play of the Game: Tommy Edman’s three-run homer in the first (.181)
Up next: Tarik Skubal’s Dodger debut. He will face Cubs right-hander Javier Assad.
