When Marc-Andre Fleury joins the Pittsburgh Penguins for practice this morning at the UPMC Lemieux complex in Cranberry Township, the team is expected a packed house of fans looking to see one of their
sports heroes in the black and gold.
Fleury, who retired this past offseason, is joining the Penguins on a professional tryout and will be practicing with the team this morning and afternoon before suiting up with the team one last time during tomorrow’s preseason game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Penguins announced yesterday evening that the UPMC Lemieux complex has limited seating and that there’s a chance that the building could reach capacity.
“Fans will be given access to the building on a first-come, first-served basis,” the team said, adding that fans will need to go through security screening to enter the building.
The team’s training camp practice is expected to be a crowded one with Fleury in attendance.
Fans looking to purchase any Fleury gear at practice or at Friday night’s game against the Red Wings will be out of luck, however, as PensGear announced that Fleury merchandise will be available on Saturday once the gates for the game against the Blue Jackets open.
“Pucks, jerseys, and t-shirts will not be available prior to the game, including during the day on Saturday,” PensGear said.
The team’s morning skate today will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a non-game group practice taking place at Noon.
Tomorrow’s game against the Blue Jackets at PPG Paints Arena will begin at 7 p.m.
