The Carolina Hurricanes are hitting the road for the annual State Fair road trip, and it’s a brutal six-game swing that gets started tonight at 10:00 PM ET against the San Jose Sharks.
The Canes are one
of just three undefeated teams left in the NHL, having knocked off the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers on home ice to start things off with a pair of division wins.
The Sharks are 0-0-2 with a pair of brutal overtime losses. Most notably, former Cane Alex Nedeljkovic gave away a puck in overtime leading to an easy goal and win for the Vegas Golden Knights.
San Jose has other old friends in forward Jeff Skinner and defenseman Dmitry Orlov. Skinner has two goals in as many games to start his 16th NHL season, while Orlov has three assists and a plus-2 rating to his name so far with his new club.
