Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …
2026 NFL draft: Latest intel, questions for 32 teams’ picks – ESPN Will the Eagles use an early pick at WR, bracing for a post-June 1 trade of A.J. Brown? The Eagles view DeVonta Smith as a WR1 capable of thriving with a larger workload and added a couple of complementary veterans in Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore. That said, the receiving corps would take an obvious hit if Brown is traded. But as much as skill position players have helped, the Eagles’
long run of success has been largely predicated on the strength of their offensive and defensive lines. The expectation here is for them to continue investing in the trenches in this draft, particularly after an injury-plagued season that ended with both right tackle Lane Johnson and guard Landon Dickerson pondering retirement. The organization has been disciplined in taking the best available player, but if it’s close, the tiebreaker will likely go to the big men. — Tim McManus […] What we’re hearing about the Eagles’ draft: Circle the Eagles as a team that could get aggressive in trading up for a receiver. Jordyn Tyson (Arizona State) is a player to watch, as he could still be on the board in the Nos. 17-20 range. GM Howie Roseman is notorious for drafting replacements for veterans a year in advance. — Justin Reid
Ranking 19 wide receivers in the 2026 NFL Draft – BGN
3) Jordyn Tyson, Arizona State. Overall: A refined, smooth route-runner whose separation ability and dependable hands make him one of the safer bets in the class when healthy. His medical record is the major question mark that could cause him to slip on draft boards despite first-round talent. Eagles Thoughts: Unless the medicals don’t come back clean, I can’t imagine he makes it to pick 23. But if he’s on the board, he’s absolutely in play. A potential value pick if concerns push him down.
General Draft Talk – Iggles Blitz
Jordyn Tyson is one of the best WR prospects in the draft. He had a good senior season, but hasn’t helped himself in the offseason. He didn’t work out at the Combine or his Pro Day. He is now saying he’ll work out for teams on April 17. All of this delay from a hamstring issue has teams questioning him. Schrager did a mock with Tyson going to KC ninth overall. Jeremiah seems to think Tyson will fall, maybe into the 20’s. Tyson has NFL talent, but durability, toughness and desire are critical traits for NFL success. If teams have real doubts, he will fall.
A look at the 2026 NFL calendar, and how it pertains to the Eagles – PhillyVoice
April 20: Clubs with returning head coaches may begin offseason workout programs: This isn’t normally a noteworthy date on the NFL calendar, but it is this year for the Eagles. Will A.J. Brown be in attendance, and more importantly, also participating in physical workouts? If the Eagles intend on dealing Brown, they will not want him risking any sort of injury.
Why Yes I’ve Got Some Thoughts on the Various Dramas Involving Devan Kaney, Mike Missanelli, and Dianna Russini – Crossing Broad
The thing about being an insider is that you’re not a journalist. It’s information brokerage, so there really isn’t some prewritten rule set. There’s no handbook on cultivating sources and breaking news. It stems more from the tree of relationship building and schmoozing. If you were to train college journalism students on how to develop sources and break stories, you wouldn’t send them out with a camera and microphone, you would send them to the local bar to talk to other people and get phone numbers. You need social skills more than journalism skills, and so of course if you’re an affable and attractive woman you are going to do well in this space. That’s not to say there’s anything inappropriate going on here, because only Russini and Vrabel would know that, but the pictures look stupid and you are taking an L in the optics department. People are going to cast judgment the way they see fit, whether it’s fair or unfair, which is why you have to be super-aware of public image and come out with better statements than “this doesn’t deserve any further response.”
NFL insider explains how Caleb Downs can fall to Cowboys – Blogging The Boys
The idea is dangerous to entertain. Caleb Downs is among the best players in this year’s NFL draft class. Any thought that he could wind up with a star on his helmet feels foolish. We can’t let ourselves believe it. There is no way. Why subject ourselves to that hurt and pain? A light flickers, though. Recently ESPN’s Peter Schrager mocked Downs to the Cowboys at 12 overall and the faint heartbeat it provides is one we want to believe is the sound of a drum in the distance. Maybe the cavalry is coming.
Should Washington Draft Connor Lew, the “Top Center in the Class”? – Hogs Haven
Many fans and commentators expect that the Commanders will upgrade the center position eventually. Nick Allegretti is the weakest link on the line now, and 2026 offers one of the best center draft classes in years to address that. Moreover, the sweet spot for finding centers in the draft is Day 2, and the Commanders next pick after #7 is #71, early in the third round.
NY Giants could be ‘compelled’ to trade Kayvon Thibodeaux with right offer – Big Blue View
Of course the Giants would move the 25-year-old Thibodeaux if the were offered a Day 2 pick in return. The common belief has been that Thibodeaux would be unlikely to fetch more than a fourth-round pick in return. The Giants seem unlikely to give Thibodeaux a mega-deal like the four-year, $110 million one Travon Walker signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The likely scenario should they not trade him would be losing him in free agency and hoping for a 2028 third-round compensatory draft pick. In my view, a 2026 fourth-round pick might be more valuable than that. A second- or third-round pick in 2026 rather than a tack-on compensatory pick at the end of the 2028 draft? Taking that in exchange for Thibodeaux and also gaining $14.75 million in 2026 cap space seems like a no-brainer.
Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini’s alleged romantic photos, explained with the internet’s best sleuthing – SB Nation
New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini, senior NFL reporter for The Athletic, really want you to believe that it’s extremely normal for platonic friends to hang out around the pool at a known honeymoon retreat, have a sunset embrace, and lock fingers while staring wistfully into each other’s eyes.
