The Cleveland Browns begin their practice week for the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday. GM Andrew Berry has already made two additions to the roster who were recently with the team’s Week 3 opponent: WR Jimmy Horn Jr. and LB Krys Barnes.
As Browns fans begin to believe, at least a little bit, that their team can win, the Panthers come in with a high-flying offense and quality play from QB Bryce Young. Carolina’s passing game has been humming, leading the NFL with 625 yards a game. They’ll need it, with their run
game in the bottom half of the league and RB Jonathan Brooks placed on injured reserve on Wednesday:
Brooks was second on the Panthers in rushing attempts (9) and yards (30) before getting injured, and had also caught two passes, one that went for 48 yards.
Help could be on the way, with veteran RB Austin Ekeler reportedly visiting Carolina on Wednesday:
Once a versatile threat out of the backfield, Ekeler has gained just over 400 yards rushing the last two seasons, playing in just 14 games for the Washington Commanders.
Even if the veteran is signed, the Panthers may stick with AJ Dillon as the primary backup for starter Chuba Hubbard.
How big of a deal do you think Brooks being out will be in Week 3?
