The White Sox host the Rays for the finale and will attempt to take the series after last night’s close win.
Ahead of the game, teams across the league remember those whose lives were tragically lost on Sept. 11, 2001.
Shane Smith (5-7) is on the bump this afternoon. Smith has improved his ERA
to 3.95 lately, but still tends to get tossed around a little in the early innings. He does, however, have 118 strikeouts under his belt. Andrew Benintendi and Kyle Teel are getting the day off, with Will Robertson and Korey Lee in their places instead.
As for the Rays, we’ll see a similar lineup to the previous two games. Ian Seymour (3-1) will get the start today. Seymour was drafted by the Rays in 2020, and he was recalled in June of this year for his MLB debut. He spent June and July between the Durham Bulls and down in Tampa, but has remained on the Rays roster since July 31, 2025. He owns an ERA of 2.89 and 47 strikeouts.
First pitch is at 1:10 p.m. CT. You can watch the game on CHSN or listen on ESPN Chicago 1000.
