Goodbye UFC APEX. Hello … Meta APEX?
UFC CEO, Dana White, today announced the facility will be rebranded under the Meta name, part of White’s ongoing relationship with Facebook founder and grappling wannabe Mark Zuckerberg. The move comes just a few weeks before the promotion returns to APEX for UFC Fight Night 113.
“Meta is always at the forefront of technology and immersive experiences, and their enhancements will change the way fans view live fights,” said UFC CEO and President Dana White. “This
rebranding comes at the perfect time as the facility is completing a major renovation, expanding capacity, concessions, hospitality, and UFC retail. For the first time ever, fans can come to Meta Apex and experience UFC fights with interactive VR, AI, and wearable technology. I can’t wait for fans to see it.”
Comments from UFC fans were overwhelmingly negative; though to be fair, UFC fans sh*t on everything and everyone because that’s just how the Internet works. That said, a few Instagram comments were in support of the rebranding, calling it “the future” of mixed martial arts (MMA).
White and Zuckerberg are also partnering on a new rankings system for 2026 and beyond, though it’s been a hot minute since we heard any news on that front. The more interesting takeaway is that APEX will soon allow fans to attend the “Fight Night” events, ending a longstanding gripe from fighters who were competing in silence.
UFC Vegas 114 will feature No. 9-ranked Mario Bautista taking on No. 13-ranked Vinicius Oliveira.
