Chelsea are set to take advantage of our multi-club pipeline with the signing of Emmenuel Emegha from RC Strasbourg next summer (2026), which was officially confirmed by the club earlier today.
Though Chelsea have not revealed any details beyond that, Emegha, 22, will be reportedly signing a 7-year deal upon arrival. The value assigned to the transfer by BlueCo is also a mystery at this point. Emegha joined Strasbourg in a €13m deal from Sturm Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga two years ago. He’s since
scored 24 goals in 57 appearances, including a career-high 14 last season (29 appearances).
Apparently, as per The Athletic, we rate him so highly that even if Nicolas Jackson ends up not staying at Bayern Munich (via either the most unlikely long-obligation, or via some other arrangement), his time at Chelsea will be over and Emegha will be his replacement.
Until then, Emegha’s focus will be on continuing his development at Strasbourg.
“Strasbourg gave me the opportunity to develop and to get to the level that I am today, and I’m not finished developing or growing. I’m really grateful to the club and the supporters for everything they have done for me. I just want to focus 100% on Strasbourg until the end of the season, and then I will leave. I don’t want there to be rumours or distractions for my team or for me, so I think this is the best decision to bring it out now.
“Everybody knows my personality. It’s not because people know I’m leaving that I will change my behaviour or my work ethic. I’m someone who gives 100% every day for the team and for the club, and I’ll keep doing this until the end.
“I had opportunities to go to other European top clubs that play in the Champions League. I spoke with Chelsea, with Strasbourg and with BlueCo about what would be best for my career. We had open discussions and agreed that the best decision was for me to stay in Strasbourg for one more year, to lead the team in Europe, to write another piece of history here, and then go to Chelsea.
“I feel loved in Strasbourg, and I’m happy with how I’ve been treated at this club. As a football player and as a person, the most important thing is to feel respected and loved. Even with what happened at the end of last season, I’m even more eager to do everything for my club and make sure that we reach our goals.
“We want to play fantastic games in Europe, and we don’t want to be there just to say we played in the Conference League. We really want to achieve something as a team. We are young, ambitious and hungry, and I think that’s all you need to be successful. I know I’m speaking a lot now, but you also know I will show it on the pitch.”

There will be plenty of time to talk on the pitch as well, Mr. Double-E. Let’s go!
