It’s time to bring everyone the results of our SB Nation Reacts polls for this week, so let’s get right to it!
As always, the first question we wanted to ask everyone is whether or not they were confident in the direction of the Minnesota Vikings four weeks into the 2026 regular season. After opening the season with four consecutive wins, with a couple of them coming in relatively ugly fashion, the answer to that question is a resounding. . .“Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.”
Despite being one of only three remaining
undefeated teams in the NFL after the first four weeks of the season, only 53% of Vikings fans are confident that the team is heading in the right direction, according to the results of our survey. While the Vikings are winning games, they’re doing it in a manner that isn’t necessarily artistic. They’ve failed to find the end zone in two of their four wins and have only scored one offensive touchdown over the last three games, but the number that matters the most is the one in the “W” column, and right now the Vikings have as many as you can have.
“Well,” you might say, “the Vikings could have had a touchdown on Sunday if T.J. Hockenson had just walked into the end zone on the last real play they ran on offense.“ Well, we asked everyone about that, too, and there are plenty of you who feel that the big tight end did exactly what he should have in that situation.
Of those who responded to our survey, 76% feel that Hockenson did the right thing by sliding down at the 1-yard line rather than scoring a touchdown. Honestly? I’m surprised the number is that low.
Sure, the odds of the Dolphins scoring 12 points after getting the ball back with two minutes left in the game are just about zero, particularly with the way Minnesota’s defense has been playing these first four weeks. However, the odds of the Dolphins scoring at all without seeing the football again are exactly zero.
Since the Vikings forced Miami to burn all of their timeouts leading up to that play, the Dolphins weren’t going to get the ball back (barring an absolute “Miracle at the Meadowlands”-style catastrophe from the Vikings), so the only people who were really super, duper mad about Hockenson sliding down are the people who had Vikings -10.5.
You did the right thing, T.J. So, for those about to Hock. . .we salute you.
Those are your SB Nation Reacts results for this week, ladies and gentlemen. As always, we’d like to thank everybody who took the time to participate in our survey and discuss the questions in our comments section and in the Feed, and we’ll have another one for you here next week!
