Hello CSR! We’re 19 days away from the start of the Panthers’ 2025 regular season, which means we’re going to take some time to highlight #19 on the roster: wide receiver Adam Thielen!
Thielen entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent for the Minnesota Vikings in 2013, where he carved out quite a career as one of the best UDFAs to ever do it. He played from 2014 all the way to 2022 with Minnesota, but then was released in 2023 to clear some cap space. That opened the door for his arrival in Carolina,
becoming rookie QB Bryce Young’s #1 option that year. Thielen showed he had plenty left in the tank, as he caught 103 passes for 1,014 yards and 4 TDs. Then, in 2024, despite having his season shortened due to injury, he caught 48 passes for 615 yards and 5 TDs in 10 total games played. Carolina elected to give him a pay raise to bring him back for 2025.
Thielen figures to once again be Bryce Young’s security blanket in what could be his final season as a pro. He’s amassed 8,311 yards and 64 receiving TDs across the span of his 11 year career, and looks to close out 12 seasons with a Panthers squad trying their best to be competitive. This time around, he’s got plenty of other receivers to take the load off, and figures to work the slot quite a bit while the other younger players can go out there and push down the field.
