The Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons are getting prepared to kickoff in Madrid, Spain for one of the NFL’s international games. Both of these teams are fighting to keep playoff hopes alive.
Both teams also had concerns about whether one of their pass rushers would be available come game-time. Both teams injury reports were relatively healthy outside of them.
Here’s who’s out for the Bengals on Sunday against the Falcons:
- S Kyle Dugger
- C Connor Lew
- OL Myles Hinton
- DT Landon Robinson
Because the team didn’t have any practice squad elevations they only needed
four inactives to get to the required active players on the roster. That means that if Shemar Stewart was being considered for being a healthy scratch it wasn’t necessary.
Cedric Johnson was the main concern for the Bengals side. He was the only player who it was unclear if he would or would not play. Johnson has provided a bit of a spark at times in the pass rushing rotation. His rise has become the main reason that Stewart has struggled to get onto the field.
Now with Cashius Howell on injured reserve, the team should be using both Johnson and Stewart a fair amount.
Here’s who’s out for the Falcons:
- QB Andy Dalton (third QB)
- QB Jack Strand
- WR Zachariah Branch
- DB Billy Bowman
- DB Robert Longerbeam
- DE Drake Jackson
The big news here is who is not on the list. James Pearce Jr. is active after serving an eight game suspension for his domestic dispute this offseason, which included waving a gun at his girlfriend. He had double digit sacks last season as a rookie, but this will be his first game back this season.
Also a familiar faces in Dalton will serve as the emergency quarterback, which means they can not play unless both the starting and backup quarterbacks are unable to play due to injury. We saw the Baltimore Ravens need to resort to that last week.
